"Ardmore car plant talks continue" (NewsOK.com.20/06/2007)
"Negotiations to build a Nanjing Automobile Co. manufacturing plant in Ardmore continue as Italian carmaker Fiat cuts ties with the Chinese automaker for backing out of a planned investment.
Norman attorney Marc Nuttle, who helped broker the talks, said Tuesday discussions continued as recently as Friday. "We're still working, but we have not reached agreement yet, and there are complicated issues,” Nuttle said, citing intellectual property rights. When asked if he saw an end to negotiations, he said it's a matter of "what they're capable of doing. I don't know what they're capable of.”
The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported Monday that Fiat no longer would produce new models at the joint Nanjing Fiat plant and would leave the joint venture's management team because of Nanjing's disappointing performance, including failure to invest in the partnership.
