Due to ageing vehicle design and poor market performance, the MG TF car sports car has officially stopped production. But MG cars has also announced the next generation of MG TF production plan.
MG TF from the market to cash in now after almost a decade, mid-engine rear-drive sports car layout has won broad market approval, and is now the only remaining one of the few British sports car. According to MG Motors said, the next generation of the TF sports car has been in its R & D centers in the UK has began the research and development. Some media said that a new generation of TF from the MG3 MG5 will use the model platform for development, these two models are pre-precursor of the layout of the platform, if the next generation of TF rear drive layout is still used then both a platform for research and development will bring no small difficulty! And if the layout of the front drive is used in turn lead precursor to lost the essence of the British sports car. Fortunately, MG car chose the former, R & D center will MG3, MG5 platform a series of improvements to meet the requirements of the rear drive.
On the engine there is no information, the driving force will be from the current sequence of MG, the most likely to appear in the next generation of TF should be on a 1.8T turbo engines. Expected, the next generation of TF will be officially unveiled in late 2013 and in the UK first.
